Bible Study Assignment (Thursday night)

Here are your "assignments" for this Thursday night's meeting:

1.) Go the the library and pick up a book (preferrably) or find a website on the internet about space and the universe. Make this content your devotional for at least the next week (which means you need to find one SOON for it to be worthwhile).

Yes, I actually said to use it as your devotional.

2.) Listen to the David Crowder Band's song "Stars" off their Illuminate album. If you don't have a copy of it, get together with someone and listen together. Or in a group. If you're with others, don't talk during the song. I would suggest waiting until it's actually dark out to listen to it, either outside or in a dimly lit room with a few candles lit. Create an atmosphere to receive the words and sounds. Put it on repeat and listen to it at least three times.

Close your eyes.

As you do this, remember: it's not just about acquiring knowledge and information. It's about awe and wonder. It's about venturing to the fringes of understanding with Him. It's about letting God take you into the dance of His creation. Allow yourself to get swept.

What we talk about will be your response to this, so it's important that you actually DO it.

***UPDATE***

We will meet at my house around 7:00 p.m. We'll watch a movie here that goes along with the theme (bring snacks or whatever to share if you want) which will last around 2.5 hours...then go on a little "field trip" afterward. We'll probably be done around 11:30 - midnight, so let your parents know accordingly.
